HOW DOES OFFSHORE DEVELOPMENT WORK FROM AUSTRALIA?
Being an offshore software development company for Australia means being clear about where we are. Our only office is in Bahria Town Phase 7, Rawalpindi, Pakistan, on the Islamabad border. We have no Australian company, ABN, address or staff. Australian founders, agencies and small businesses work with us remotely when local quotes don't fit the budget but they still want senior engineers, a written scope and code they own outright.
The clock suits Australia better than most people expect. Sydney and Melbourne are five hours ahead of Pakistan on AEST (UTC+10) and six hours ahead during daylight saving (AEDT, UTC+11) from early October to early April. Our 09:00–18:00 day runs from 14:00 to 23:00 AEST, or 15:00 to midnight AEDT, so your afternoon overlaps our morning, and by the next morning a full day's work has landed. Brisbane stays on AEST all year, and Perth, on AWST (UTC+8), is only three hours ahead, so WA teams get the longest overlap.
Most Australian clients ask about privacy before price. If your business is covered by the Privacy Act 1988, Australian Privacy Principle 8 requires you to take reasonable steps before disclosing personal information to an overseas recipient such as us, and section 16C keeps you accountable for how we handle it. We make that straightforward: a contract binding us to the APPs, de-identified test data by default, and prompt notice of any suspected breach so you can assess it under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

- PKT is UTC+5 with no daylight saving. Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Hobart are 5 hours ahead on AEST and 6 ahead on AEDT (early October to early April). Brisbane is 5 ahead all year; Perth is 3 ahead.
- Working hours & overlap
- Mon–Fri, 09:00–18:00 PKT = 14:00–23:00 AEST, 15:00–24:00 AEDT or 12:00–21:00 AWST. Your afternoon overlaps our morning.
- Privacy Act & data breaches
- We contract to handle personal information in line with the APPs, so you can meet APP 8. If a suspected breach occurs we tell you promptly, so you can decide whether the OAIC and affected individuals must be notified.

- NDA first, then a services agreement assigning all IP to your business. We are comfortable contracting under the law of an Australian state.
- Billing, currency & GST
- Invoiced in USD (AUD on request) by international bank transfer or Wise/Payoneer; no Australian entity or bank account. The ATO says a GST-registered buyer of overseas services works out whether GST applies, so check with your accountant.

WHAT DO CLIENTS ASK BEFORE STARTING?
Q01Do you have an office in Australia?
No. RTechnologies has one office, in Bahria Town Phase 7, Rawalpindi, Pakistan, and no Australian company, ABN, address or staff. We work with Australian clients entirely remotely through video calls, a shared Slack or Teams channel and weekly demos, and we contract and invoice from Pakistan.
Q02How does the time difference work?
Sydney and Melbourne are five hours ahead of Pakistan on AEST and six hours ahead on AEDT, from early October to early April. Our 09:00–18:00 day is 14:00–23:00 AEST, so your afternoon overlaps our morning and a full day's work is done by your next morning. Perth is only three hours ahead, so West Australian teams overlap with us from midday onwards.
Q03Who owns the code and IP?
You do. The services agreement assigns all intellectual property in the work to your business, and the code lives in your GitHub or Bitbucket account from the first commit. Cloud accounts, domains and app-store listings are registered in your name, and you can remove our access at any time.
Q04How do you handle the Privacy Act and APP 8?
Under APP 8, before disclosing personal information to an overseas recipient you must take reasonable steps to ensure it won't breach the APPs, and you stay accountable for its handling. We sign a contract binding us to the APPs, work with de-identified or synthetic data wherever possible, and notify you promptly of any suspected breach so you can meet the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Q05Can you integrate Afterpay, eftpos and PayTo?
Yes. Stripe supports Afterpay, eftpos routing for co-branded debit cards and PayTo, so a single Stripe integration covers most Australian checkouts. For PayID payments we work with providers connected to the New Payments Platform, which PayID and PayTo both run on. We build and test the integration; your payment provider handles settlement.
Q06Do you charge Australian GST?
Our invoices come from Pakistan, and we have no Australian entity. According to the ATO, when a GST-registered Australian business buys services from an overseas supplier, the buyer works out whether GST is payable under the reverse-charge rules. In many cases it is not, but your accountant should confirm for your situation.
Q07How much does it cost to outsource app development from Australia?
Our published rate guide shows Pakistani agencies typically billing $20–50 an hour in US dollars for senior engineers, most commonly $25–40. We quote most Australian projects as a fixed price per milestone after a free scoping call, and can invoice in AUD on request, so you know the total before any work starts.
