SHOULD A UK COMPANY OUTSOURCE TO PAKISTAN?
If you are comparing offshore software development companies for the UK, start with the plain facts. RTechnologies is a software house in Bahria Town Phase 7, Rawalpindi, Pakistan, on the Islamabad border. We have no UK office, no UK company and no UK staff, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we offer British businesses is a compact, in-house team of senior engineers who build remotely, with the written scope, weekly demos and reviewed pull requests you would expect from a good agency in London or Manchester.
The time difference is the part UK buyers usually underestimate. Pakistan Standard Time is five hours ahead of GMT and four hours ahead of BST, so our 09:00–18:00 working day runs from 04:00 to 13:00 in a British winter and 05:00 to 14:00 in summer. Your whole morning overlaps our afternoon: a 09:30 stand-up, a late-morning review and same-day answers to anything you raise before lunch. Pakistan is also half an hour closer to the UK clock than India.
Nearshore or offshore? Teams in Poland, Portugal or Romania sit an hour or two from London and usually charge more; our own blog puts Eastern European senior rates at roughly $45–90 an hour against $20–50 in Pakistan. Choose nearshore if you need people in your office every month; choose an offshore team like ours if a dependable morning overlap, a written process and lower rates matter more.

- NDA first, then a services agreement with full IP assignment to your company. Governing law is agreed per contract, and English law is an option.

WHAT DO CLIENTS ASK BEFORE STARTING?
Q01Do you have an office in the UK?
No. RTechnologies has one office, in Bahria Town Phase 7, Rawalpindi, Pakistan, and no UK company, address or staff. We work with UK clients entirely remotely through video calls, a shared Slack or Teams channel and weekly demos, and we contract and invoice from Pakistan.
Q02How does the time difference work?
Pakistan is five hours ahead of the UK in winter (GMT) and four hours ahead in summer (BST), with no clock changes on our side. Our 09:00–18:00 day is 04:00–13:00 GMT or 05:00–14:00 BST, so your morning overlaps our afternoon. Stand-ups, reviews and demos all fit inside UK office hours.
Q03Who owns the code and IP?
You do. The contract assigns all intellectual property in the work to your company, and the code lives in your GitHub or GitLab organisation from the first day. Cloud accounts, domains and app-store listings are registered in your name. We work only through access you grant, and you can revoke it at any time.
Q04How do you handle UK GDPR and data protection?
When we process personal data on your behalf, we act as your processor and sign an Article 28 data processing agreement. If our access counts as a restricted transfer, we put the ICO's International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU SCCs in place. Wherever possible we test with anonymised or synthetic data, so live personal data stays in your systems.
Q05Should a UK company choose a nearshore or an offshore team?
Choose nearshore, such as Eastern Europe, if you want people within an hour of London who can visit often, and you can accept higher rates. Choose an offshore team in Pakistan if four to five hours of daily overlap is enough, you value a written process and you want rates closer to $20–50 an hour. A small paid pilot is the sensible way to test the fit.
Q06How much does it cost to outsource software development from the UK?
Pakistani agencies typically bill $20–50 an hour for senior engineers, most commonly $25–40, and our detailed rate guide explains what sits inside those numbers. We quote most UK projects as a fixed price per milestone after a free scoping call, so you know the total before work starts. Invoices are in USD, or GBP on request.
Q07Can you work white-label for a UK agency?
Yes. We structure white-label projects so the agency stays the client-facing partner. We sign your NDA, work inside your repositories and project tools, follow your coding and design standards, and stay out of client conversations unless you invite us in.
